Sensory integration refers to the organization and coordination of perceptual functions such as sense of touch, movement, and body position. Sensory integration therapy assists in the development of appropriate perceptual reactions to environmental stimuli. Sensory and motor activities are provided to encourage the nervous system to process and integrate sensory input in an organized and meaningful way, thereby enhancing motor skills, language, attention, and/or behaviour.
