Individualized programs are developed to address issues with self-care, transfers/mobility, environmental safety and accessibility, and pre-accident housekeeping and caregiving activities. Treatment may include the provision of education on posture, body mechanics, and the pacing of activities, and the recommendation of equipment to facilitate the safe return to pre-accident function. For those individuals suffering cognitive impairment following an accident or injury, cognitive remediation activities may be provided in addition to cognitive strategies for the client and family/caregivers to be implemented during day-to-day activities.
