Individualized programs are developed to address difficulties with communication, fluency, speech production, voice production, memory and cognition, reading, and writing. Programs may include education on communication strategies for the family/caregivers, oral motor exercises, remediation activities, and training with augmentative communication devices. For those individuals with swallowing disorders following an accident or injury, treatment includes education to the client/family and/or caregivers on eating safety including optimal eating and feeding techniques, and positioning for eating and feeding.
