Ergonomics focuses on how workers interact with their environment. It considers how health is influenced by the design of a job and the tools involved. When the ‘fit’ or ‘match’ between the worker and the work environment and tasks is poor, discomfort, fatigue, and possible injury may result. Continuum therapists conduct ergonomic assessments to identify factors such as poor positioning, repetition, lifting, and force, as well as other environmental factors, that may contribute to workplace injury.
